Description
Throughout the entire semester, each team will keep a goal setting
log. This should contain the goals set following a progress briefing and
advisory meeting, as well as the advisory team’s assessment of those
goals in the subsequent meeting (after progress towards them has been
presented).
At the end of the semester, you’ll submit your goal setting log. It
will be scored on the following criteria:
- Clarity and feasibility
- Are you following the OKR framework? click here for
details
- Could a peer data scientist who is familiar with your project
understand your goals?
- Are you making incremental progress? Or are you trying to do too
much, too quickly?
- Calibration and attainment
- Are your goals being becoming calibrated over time? Or is your team
continually setting goals that are too lofty/too simplistic?
- Does the attainment of your goals move you closer to the project’s
endpoint? Or are some goals unnecessary/unimportant?
- Completeness
- Are goals for every stage of the project documented?
- Is advisory team feedback recorded for every goal?
